Polycarbonate is available in general purpose grades, as well as several other grades that provide specific properties, such as flame-retardant, FDA approved grades for use in food-contact and medical applications and more. Polycarbonates are characterized by an excellent combination of toughness, transparency, heat/flame resistance and dimensional stability. The insulating and other electrical characteristics of polycarbonate are excellent and almost unchanged by temperature and humid conditions.
